All tobacco and e-cigarette retailers in South Australia must hold a Retail Tobacco and E-Cigarette Licence and display a copy of the licence next to each point of sale.
Retailers with more than one retail outlet selling tobacco or e-cigarette must hold a separate tobacco and e-cigarette licence for each of these outlets.
A tobacco product is anything that contains tobacco or is designed for the purpose of smoking tobacco, e.g. herbal cigarettes, filters and cigarette papers.
An e-cigarette product is a device that is designed to generate or release an aerosol or vapour for inhalation by its user in a manner similar to the inhalation of smoke from an ignited tobacco product. This also includes any parts designed for an e-cigarette eg; battery, heating element, cartridge or vapour.
A prescribed notice must be on display next to each point of sale.
