Retail Tobacco Merchant's Licence - South Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to sell tobacco products by retail.

A tobacco product is anything that contains tobacco or is designed for the purpose of smoking tobacco (e.g. cigarettes, rolling tobacco, herbal cigarettes, cigarette papers, etc.) Please note: the sale of e-cigarettes and vapes outside of pharmacies is now banned Australia wide.

It is a requirement that you display a copy of the licence and a prescribed notice next to each point of sale.

The approved number of tobacco points of sale are restricted to one, unless the retailer also holds a certain class of liquor licence.

If you intend to sell tobacco products at more than one retail outlet, you must hold a separate retail tobacco licence for each of these outlets.
