You will need this licence if you intend to sell tobacco products by retail.
A tobacco product is anything that contains tobacco or is designed for the purpose of smoking tobacco (e.g. cigarettes, rolling tobacco, herbal cigarettes, cigarette papers, etc.) Please note: the sale of e-cigarettes and vapes other than by pharmacies is now banned Australia wide.
All pages of your licence (including any conditions) must be displayed at each point of sale.
The approved number of tobacco points of sale are restricted to one, unless the retailer also holds a certain class of liquor licence.
If you intend to sell tobacco products at more than one retail outlet, you must hold a separate retail tobacco licence for each of these outlets.
If you intend to sell tobacco products to both consumers and retailers you will need to obtain a retail tobacco licence and a wholesale tobacco licence.
