Second-hand Dealers and Pawnbrokers Requirements - South Australia


A person who proposes to commence to carry on business as a second-hand dealer, including operators of market stalls intending to sell second-hand goods, must, at least one month before commencing, give the Commissioner of Police written notice in accordance with the Second-hand Dealers and Pawnbrokers Act 1996.

Any individual with dishonesty offences recorded against their name are precluded from obtaining approval from SAPOL. If disqualified, SAPOL provides you with some advice about appealing the disqualification through the Courts system.
