Security Agents Licence - South Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to work as a security agent. Security agents provide security services for fee or reward, including:

  • crowd or venue control
  • protecting, guarding or keeping a person or property under surveillance
  • canine handling for the purpose of protecting or guarding property
  • sales, advice, instillation and maintenance of security alarms or surveillance systems.

If you will be training people to be licensed security agents, you must add "security agent trainer" to your application. You can apply for this licence as a company or an individual.

To be eligible for this licence, all applicants must:

  • have the relevant qualifications
  • not have been convicted of relevant offences.

To be eligible for this licence, company/business applicants must:

  • be financially solvent
  • have at least $10,000 in net assets
  • not have been a director of a company that has wound up in the past five years.

If you do not have the relevant qualifications, you may apply for a restricted licence to work with a licensed business partner (details can be found in the attached documents and on the agency website).
