You will need this approval to use water from a prescribed area. For example, you will need this approval to carry out any type of irrigation along the SA Murray River.
The following areas will need this approval:
- River Murray prescribed watercourse
- Far North prescribed wells area.
Unless there is a condition on the water allocation, the water can be used for any purpose as along as you have a Site Use Approval that covers that use. For example, Class 3 entitlement allocations can be used for irrigation, domestic, industrial or recreational uses, provided the approval covers these purposes.
Any legal entity can apply for this approval, although the landowner will be required to countersign if the applicant is not the landowner.
