A strata plan divides a building and its associated land into units and common property. The strata plan is administered and managed by the strata corporation, which is made up of the registered owners of the units in the strata plan.
Since 2009, no new strata plans have been permitted and new land divisions are must be created under the Community Titles Act 1996. It is possible to amend an existing scheme or cancel and convert to Torrens Titles.
