A Ministerial approval for licensed aquaculture operators to treat aquaculture stock using any chemical that is not issued a permit, or registered for the proposed use.
A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
This approval relates only to the treatment of stock on licensed aquaculture facilities in South Australia using products not registered for, or issued a permit for the specified use as defined under the Agricultural and Veterinary Products (Control of Use) Act 2002 and associated legislation.
Aquaculture Regulations 2005 SA
A request to treat stock must be faxed to PIRSA Aquaculture outlining the licence details and information on the stock to be treated (type, number, reason for treatment) and the treatment (what medicine or chemical) to be used.
