Water Licence - South Australia

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to take water from a prescribed watercourse, lake, well or underwater or surface water source. Licences are issued with conditions stipulating water usage and management requirements for the licence holder.

Activities that require you to have a licence, and the relevant application process, will vary depending on the Water Resources Area in which you are situated and the relevant Water Allocation Plan for that area.  A Water Allocation Plan is a government document that sets out the specific rules for managing water resources within a Water Resources Area. To find the right application process, visit the Government of South Australian Department for Environment and Water website.
