You will need this approval if you intend to construct, operate or maintain works for the purpose of taking water from a prescribed water resource. A water resource includes:
- a watercourse or lake
- surface water
- underground water
- stormwater and effluent.
Your approval will allow you to take from a prescribed resource at a particular location and in a particular manner.
The areas requiring this approval are:
- Southern Basins and Musgrave prescribed wells area
- Far North Prescribed wells area
- River Murray prescribed watercourse.
