Accreditation as a Workplace Rehabilitation Provider - Tasmania

Description

You will need to be accredited if you intend to provide services to assist employers and workers with return to work processes. Workplace rehabilitation helps workers get back to work, or to stay at work while they recover from a serious work-related injury or illness. These services can only be provided by certain groups of registered health and allied health professionals, and include:

  • initial workplace assessments
  • functional capacity assessment
  • workplace assessments
  • job analysis
  • advice concerning job modification
  • rehabilitation counselling
  • vocational assessments.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for accreditation, you must:

  • hold full membership, accreditation or registration with one of the specified professional associations or Australian Health Practitioners Agency (AHPRA) registration boards
  • have at least 12 months experience delivering workplace rehabilitation services, or have a comprehensive induction program that will be completed and professional supervision.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

You will need to undergo continuing training to ensure your skills remain in line with the required standards.
