Animal Welfare Guidelines - Animals in Saleyards - Tasmania


You will be required to comply with these guidelines if you intend to keep or sell animals in a public saleyard.

These guidelines are intended as a guide for people involved in the preparation and management of livestock for sale in saleyards. It includes aspects of on-farm preparation, unloading, pre- and post-sale handling, general care of livestock at saleyards, and emergency slaughter of sick, crippled or downer animals.
