Animal Welfare Guidelines - Transport of Livestock Across Bass Strait - Tasmania


You will be required to comply with these guidelines if you are transporting livestock across Bass Strait.

This standard sets out the animal welfare requirements for livestock transported, including livestock being shipped to and from the Bass Strait islands.

This guideline establishes who has the legal duty of care for the welfare of livestock being transported across Bass Strait and sets out the responsibilities of all persons concerned and also defines the efficient, considerate treatment of animals so that transport stress and injury are minimised at all stages of the transport operation.
