Approval of Endorsement of a Retirement Village - Tasmania

Description

If you intend to operate a retirement village, you must obtain an endorsement by the Recorder for any land upon which your retirement village is to be located.

The endorsement will note on the relevant folio of the Register that your land is now being used for a retirement village.

Retirement villages are a special kind of accommodation where:

  • the majority of residents are aged 55 years or over or are retired from full-time employment
  • residents are provided with accommodation and services, other than services provided in a residential care or aged care facility
  • at least one of the residents paid an ingoing contribution that was not rent.
