Approval to Hold a Funeral or Burial in a Cemetery - Tasmania

You will require this approval if you intend holding a funeral or burial in a cemetery. You can obtain a permit for burial by contacting the manager of your chosen cemetery, or a funeral director can organise this on your behalf. A request for cremation or burial from the funeral director or other person conducting the service must be lodged with the Manager.

If a vehicle is to be driven or brought into the cemetery at the time of burial, approval must first be obtained from the Council.

If you intend to hold a funeral or burial in a cemetery outside the normal hours, please contact the Manager.
