You may keep bees on property greater than 400 metres squared. The amount of hives you may keep varies depending on the size of the property on which the bees will be kept. A person keeping bee hives must ensure:
- the provision of a good and sufficient water supply on the land which is readily accessible by the bees on the land
- that each bee hive is located near a screen or other barrier so as to prevent the bees flying over a thoroughfare, public place or adjoining land
- that any bee hive is not within three metres of a property boundary.
