You will need this approval if you intend to trade in tree ferns. All tree ferns must be harvested under an approved forest practices plan. All harvested tree ferns must have a tag securely attached to them at the point of harvest. It is the responsibility of the harvester to apply to the agency for issue of the tags and to ensure their secure attachment.
Tree fern tags must not be removed, swapped or used more than once in the harvest, transport or trading process.
Trading in tree ferns includes conducting any of the following activities:
- collecting, acquiring or buying
- bartering or exchanging
- selling
- offering, displaying or exposing
- supplying, sending, transporting or delivering
- storing or holding.
