If you are a gas entity and intend to operate a gas facility, you must submit a safety and operating plan. The plan must comply with this and other standards set out in legislation.
A gas entity is a person that holds a Gas Supply Industry Licence. A gas facility is a system, service or facility that relates to the distribution, control, conveyance, measurement or retail sale of gas.
This standard provides the minimum requirements for the design, construction and safe operation of Type B appliances that are intended for use with the following types of gas:
- town gas
- natural gas
- simulated natural gas
- liquefied petroleum gas
- tempered liquefied petroleum gas
- any combination of these gases together or with other fuels.
A Type B appliance includes second-hand appliances that have a gas consumption rating in excess of 10 megajoules per hour.
