Australian New Zealand Standard AS / NZS 2739 Natural Gas (NG) Fuel Systems for Vehicle Engines - Tasmania


You are required to comply with this standard if you intend to work with natural gas (NG) fuel systems for engines mounted on motor vehicles to conduct the relevant gas-fitting work. This includes the design and construction of component parts.

The standard provides requirements for all vehicle types, such as rigid chassis, articulated chassis and semi-trailers.

It does not apply to natural gas usage, such as the gas supply system for appliances, in the following:

  • caravans
  • mobile homes
  • forklifts
  • floor sweepers
  • polishers
  • tow tractors
  • elevating work platforms
  • industrial engines
  • the propulsion of marine craft.
