AS 4482.2-1999 Guide to the Sampling and Investigation of Potentially Contaminated Soil - Volatile Substances - Tasmania

You will need to comply with this code if you intend to take soil samples from potentially contaminated sites.

This code sets out guidance for collecting sufficient and reliable information for the assessment of soils potentially contaminated with volatile analytes. This document should be used in conjunction with the appropriate Australian Standards for assessing the pollution of air and groundwater.

The code does not prescribe levels of contaminants which are considered to pose a risk to human health or the environment. Such levels are prescribed in documents such as the criteria produced by ANZECC / NHMRC or various regulatory authorities.
