You will need to be authorised if you intend to operate a regular passenger transport service. Regular passenger services:
- carry fare-paying passengers in a large passenger vehicle (a vehicle with 10 or more seats)
- operate at regular intervals according to a publicised route and timetable.
Regular passenger transport services do not include passenger services that form the whole or part of a tourist activity.
The driver of the vehicle operating as an authorised regular passenger service must hold an ancillary certificate to drive a public passenger vehicle in addition to their driver's licence.
