Busking Permit - Launceston City Council - Tasmania

Description

You will need this permit if you intend to busk or perform other forms of entertainment on a road or in a public place. Busking includes playing a musical instrument, pavement art, singing, conjuring, juggling, mime, mimicry, dancing, puppetry, performance art, recitation and other theatrical or visual activities which attract, or are conducted to attract a donation (and not a set fee).

Please note, as a busker you are not permitted to:

  • perform a political or religious speech
  • obstruct a footpath
  • use any form of sound amplification or electrically amplified instruments
  • wear or display any advertising matter.

You must not perform within 100 metres of premises after being requested by the occupier to cease, unless you obtain a permit from the Council to continue.

To be eligible for a busking permit you must send a sample video or audio along with the completed application form. You will also need to comply with the conditions outlined in the Busking Code of Conduct.
