Certificate of Registration as a Paintball Operator - Tasmania

Description

You will need this registration if you intend to operate a paintball business. Paintball refers to the game in which paintball firearms are used to discharge paintball pellets at people or things.

Before applying for this registration, you will need to:

  • acquire a category A, reason 6 firearm licence
  • complete an application for a permit to acquire a firearm.

You may only take possession of markers, paintballs and other equipment once both the firearms licence and the application to acquire a firearm have been issued and an inspection of your firearms storage facility has been completed.

Any employees that handle paintball markers or ammunition must hold a category A, reason 6 firearms licence. If you have employees that do not handle paintball markers or ammunition (e.g. they manage bookings, work in an onsite canteen, etc.) will not need a firearms licence.
