Commercial Purposes Licence - Tasmania

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to:

  • possess the products of partly protected wildlife, or protected wildlife
  • sell or otherwise dispose of wildlife and products of wildlife to a person or class of persons.

This permit only authorises the possession, sale or disposal of products specified on the licence to persons specified on the licence.

Species that can be possessed or sold under a Commercial Purposes Licence include:

  • bennets wallaby
  • rufous wallaby
  • brushtail possum
  • forester kangaroo.

Additional species will be assessed on a case by case basis.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

You will need to hold a game harvester skill set (game meat hunters and shooters) accreditation, or equivalent, if you intend to sell game animal carcasses. If you only intend to sell fur or skins, you will not need the game harvester skill set accreditation or equivalent.
