Description

You will need to comply with this code if you intend to carry out construction work. Construction work can be any commercial, civil or housing construction work carried out in connection with the construction, alteration, conversion, fitting-out, commissioning, renovation, repair, maintenance, refurbishment, demolition, decommissioning or dismantling of a structure.

The code provides guidance to principal contractors and other persons conducting a business or undertaking who carry out construction work on how to manage the health and safety risks associated with construction work and outlines how to achieve the required standards. The information and guidance contained in this code is relevant to all types of construction work and includes specific guidance for business working within the housing construction sector.
