Council Approval in Principle of a Staged Development Scheme - Hobart City Council - Tasmania

Description

You will require this approval prior to registration if you intend to create, amend, consolidate or cancel a staged development scheme. This is part of a two-step approval process for staged development schemes, specifically:

  • first you must obtain a certificate of approval in principle from the relevant Council
  • then you must lodge your staged development scheme with the relevant State Government Agency.

The approval in principle of a staged development scheme enables the future registration of a staged development scheme for the specified property. A staged development scheme is a development involving the registration of a series of strata plans. Strata plans are property divided into lots (private property) and common property. The common property is managed by a Body Corporate, which is made up of all lot owners acting as a single body.
