Dental Practitioner Registration - Tasmania

Description

You need to be registered to practise as a dental practitioner. Registered dental practitioners assess, prevent, diagnose, advise on and treat oral health issues and, depending on their qualifications and experience, may use the protected titles:

  • dentist
  • dental specialist
  • dental therapist
  • dental hygienist
  • dental prosthetist
  • oral health therapist.

There are five different types of registration offered to practitioners:

  • general
  • specialist
  • limited
  • non-practising
  • student.

There is one endorsement available for dental practitioners with additional qualifications and expertise:

  • area of practice - conscious sedation.
