Environmental Licence to Operate a Finfish Farm - Tasmania

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to conduct a finfish farming activity in Tasmania which:

  • produces five tonnes or more per year of finfish
  • contains, or is intended to contain finfish with a biomass of two tonnes or more.

You may not need to directly apply for this licence if your local council requires you to apply for a permit in order to carry out your intended activities. In this case, your council will refer the application to the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA).

Please note that you will also need a Fish Farm Licence in order to conduct finfish farming.
