Fishing Licence (Undaria) - Tasmania

Description

You need this licence if you intend to collect or transport Undaria. The licence will specify the collection areas, collection methods, times and quantities of Undaria you are permitted to collect.

If you intend to harvest Undaria by diving you must also hold a commercial dive fishing licence which has been endorsed for that species.

Undaria is a marine algae that is considered a marine pest in Tasmanian waters and there is legislation in place to reduce the spread of the pest. It is valued in Japan as a delicacy.
