Gas Activity Licences - Tasmania


You will need a licence to carry out gas activities such as:

  • constructing, maintaining or operating gas infrastructure
  • selling gas by retail
  • undertaking other operations that would need a licence.

These licences cover activities involving natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas or any other approved substances.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for a gas industry licence you must:

  • be a body corporate or a partnership of two or more body corporates
  • have a history of honesty and integrity in past commercial dealings
  • have suitable financial, technical and human resources.
