Gas-fitting Practitioner's Licence - TAS - Australian Business Licence and Information Service

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to carry out gas-fitting work. Gas-fitting work includes, but is not limited to, the design, installation, construction, testing, commissioning, decommissioning, conversation, modifications, relocation, repair, alternations, servicing or maintenance of gas installation or gas storage systems.

If you have overseas qualifications you will need to apply for a provisional licence.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for a practitioner's licence you must:

be a fit and proper person
have the relevant qualifications, experience and competencies (at least a Certificate III in Gas-Fitting, Certificate III in Plumbing or Certificate III in Mechanical Services plus Certificate IV competencies)
have completed the relevant training
undertake continuing professional development.

To be eligible for a provisional practitioner's licence you must:

be a fit and proper person
fulfil the requirements for mutual recognition of your qualifications, experience and competencies
have completed the training needed to satisfy the gap training requirements
undertake continuing professional development.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

You will need to maintain your skills through continuing professional development.
