Guidelines for Notifying Diseases and Food Contaminants - Tasmania

You will need to comply with these guidelines if you operate:

  • as a medical or allied health practitioner
  • a hospital
  • a medical laboratory that examines medical patients or samples
  • a laboratory that receives test results from laboratories outside Tasmania relating to certain food contaminants.

These guidelines are designed to ensure that the government receives early information regarding the occurrence of notifiable diseases, human pathogenic organisms and certain contaminants. Specific guidelines are available for the notification of coronavirus (COVID-19).
