Hobart Food Truck Permit - Tasmania

Description

You will need this permit if you intend to trade at least 50 metres or more away from an existing food and beverage business or public event from a food truck on public land. This permit is available for current mobile food registration holders.

Food trucks are defined as any vehicle that is registered as a mobile food premises within Tasmania under the Act. 

Only road-registered vehicles, where trade is wholly from inside the vehicle, can trade on the road while participating in the program. Only non-motorised, non-road-registered vehicles can trade on footpaths or in parks or reserves while participating in the program.

To be eligible for this permit you must provide evidence of the following:

  • current mobile food premises registration certificate
  • current public and product liability insurance with cover of $20 million.
