Hunting Licence - Tasmania

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to hunt, take and posess the following animals during particular seasons:

  • brown quail
  • deer
  • muttonbird
  • pheasant
  • wallaby
  • wild duck.

Species that can be hunted, alongside the open season in which wildlife can be taken, will be specified on the licence.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • be more than 14 years old if use of a firearm is required
  • hold a firearms licence if you intend to take deer, duck, wallaby, brown quail or pheasant
  • have the permission of the landowner if hunting on private land
  • have passed the waterfowl identification test if you intend to hunt wild ducks.
