Luxury Hire Car Licence - Tasmania


You will need this licence if you intend to operate a luxury car hire service where you hire out a car together with a driver. This is sometimes also known as a limousine or chauffeur service. Examples of luxury car hire use include weddings, special events, tours, and thrill rides.

Once you have a licence it does not matter if you drive the vehicle yourself or employ someone else to do it.

Luxury hire car licence holders are not permitted to stand or ply for hire in a public street or be hailed, and cannot be permitted to lease their licence to another person.
