Managing Risks in Stevedoring Code of Practice - Tasmania

  • stacking and storing on the wharf
  • receiving and delivering cargo within the terminal or facility.

This code provides practical guidance on how to manage health and safety risks associated with stevedoring and outlines how to achieve the standards. This code applies to all workplaces where stevedoring work is done and anyone involved in these activities and covers:

  • planning and inspections
  • the working environment
  • handling loads and cargo
  • plant and equipment.
