Dairy Processor Licence - Tasmania

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to process market milk. Dairy processors are defined as businesses that process market milk and cream into packaged cartons and bottles for sale. Market milk includes:

  • milk for sale for human consumption
  • modified milk, skim milk and flavoured milk for sale for human consumption as a liquid
  • cream for sale for human consumption as a liquid.

Dairy processors must also develop a food safety management system.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • lodge an application in a prescribed form
  • provide any other information or documentation, where required
  • develop a food safety program that meets the requirements of the Food Standards Code
  • pay any required fees.
