National Construction Code - Tasmania


You are required to comply with the National Construction Code (NCC) if you intend to undertake building work or work in the building industry in Tasmania. All building work in Tasmania needs to be undertaken at a national standard. The national technical standards for design, construction and installation are contained in the NCC.

The code outlines the technical provisions for the design and construction of buildings and other structures. It covers such matters as structure, fire resistance, access and egress, services and equipment, energy efficiency and certain aspects of health and amenity.

Please note that the code is reviewed and amended each year.
