National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme Auditor Registration - Tasmania

Description

You will need this registration if you intend to conduct an audit under the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS).

This registration allows you to ensure compliance with heavy vehicles standards for the following:

  • mass management systems
  • maintenance management systems
  • fatigue management: basic fatigue management (BFM)
  • fatigue management: advanced fatigue management (AFM).

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration you must:

  • hold a qualification in heavy vehicle auditing
  • have transport industry experience 
  • hold current Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurances
  • be a fit and proper person
  • hold a lead auditor qualification if you intend to lead one or more auditors or have in place a formal agreement to second a person with the technical competencies.

If you intend to carry out an audit of a maintenance management system or mass management system, you must either:

  • have the relevant and recognised technical competencies
  • provide proof of a formal arrangement that enables you to second a person or persons with the competencies necessary to complete the audit.
