Nature Based Tourism Licence - Tasmania

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to conduct a tourism-based commercial operation in an area managed by:

  • Parks and Wildlife Service
  • Sustainable Timber Tasmania
  • Wellington Park Management Trust
  • Department of State Growth.

Commercial operations include, but are not limited to:

  • providing services such as accommodation, transport, or rental of equipment
  • guided tours such as bus tours
  • adventure activities such as nature walks or caving
  • visitor activities such as cruise boat operation
  • other services such as a survival course or campgrounds.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to apply for this licence you must:

  • meet the required level of insurance cover
  • ensure that all guides, leaders and drivers involved in the activity hold relevant first aid certificates
  • obtain all necessary licences from associated authorities giving approval for specific activities such as boating or vehicle transport.
