Non-Emergency Patient Transport Licence - Tasmania


You will require this licence if you intend to provide a non-emergency patient transport service. Non-emergency patient transport services refer to transport services that relate solely to the transport of patients:

  • requiring basic care and observation
  • whose medical needs have been assessed by a member of an approved health profession as not being time-critical or acute.

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • be a fit and proper person
  • be able to demonstrate the suitability of any equipment and vehicles intended for use
  • be able to demonstrate that the intended operating arrangements for the service comply with legislation
  • complete the relevant application form
  • pay the prescribed fee.
