You will need this permission if you intend to possess an A or B listed pest or disease. A listing of declared pests and diseases is published annually. The lists of pests and diseases may be modified at any time by the Agency.
Generally, List A pests or diseases do not occur at all in Tasmania, while List B pests or diseases do occur in Tasmania but are restricted in their distribution or subject to quarantine control programs. All are threats to ecosystems of Tasmania. Please note that the lists of pests and diseases can be modified at any time.
Authorised inspectors will issue a certificate of release upon completion of satisfactory inspection of any material suspected to harbour a List A or B pest or disease.
