Permit to Deposit Controlled Waste - Circular Head Council - Tasmania

Description

You will require an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approval and an entry permit to the Port Latta landfill if you intend to dispose of any of the following:

  • fire debris
  • asbestos
  • hydrocarbon contaminated soil
  • other controlled wastes.

You will require this permit if you intend to deposit any prescribed, hazardous or controlled waste at a waste management facility. Controlled, hazardous or prescribed waste includes those wastes that exhibit toxicity, chemical or biological reactivity, environmental persistence, or the ability to bio-accumulate or enter the food chain.

Please refer to the relevant Agency or your local council to determine the hazard level of your waste and for more information on this permit.
