Permit to Keep General Livestock - Brighton Council - Tasmania

Description

You will require this permit if you intend to keep general livestock in a Residential Zone. General livestock includes, but is not limited to horses, cattle, poultry, sheep, pigs, goats, deer, llamas, alpacas etc.

Animals must be effectively fenced and there are limits to the maximum allowable area of land on which the livestock is to be kept.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit you must:

  • specify the place and manner (including any enclosure) the animal(s) will be kept
  • submit a block plan of the property, including measurements and showing the portion of the property to be used
  • submit any other information Council may require
  • pay any required fees.
