You will need a permit if you intend to:
- possess a vaccine or diagnostic reagent for a List A disease
- administer a vaccine or diagnostic reagent for a List A or B disease.
Diagnostic reagents are substances that are administered to an animal to aid in the diagnosis of a disease in the animal.
Permits to administer vaccines or diagnostic reagents for List A or B diseases come in two forms:
- General permits - authorise the general administration of vaccines or diagnostic reagents for List A or B diseases
- Special permits - only authorise the person who is issued the permit to administer a vaccine or diagnostic reagent for a List A or B disease.
