You will need this permission if you intend to undertake any activity on land that is protected by an interim protection order.
The Minister may make an interim protection order to conserve the habitat of flora or fauna which has been accepted by the Scientific Advisory Committee to be listed as threatened. Interim protection orders may apply to either private or Crown land. The terms of interim protection orders can vary and may provide for all or any of the following:
- the protection and management of flora, fauna and land within a protected habitat
- prohibition or regulation of activities on the protected habitat
- prohibition or regulation of activities outside the habitat but which may have adverse effects on the habitat under the interim protection order
- a requirement to undertake certain works or activities on the protected habitat specified in the protection order.
