You will need a permit if you intend to undertake certain activities with prohibited matter. Different permits are required for dealing with prohibited matter, including:

  • Individual permit - animal: to import animals / animal products that are not listed as permitted matter.
  • Prohibited dealing permit - animal: to undertake certain prescribed dealings with prohibited pests and diseases such as importing, supplying or propagating.
  • Prohibited matter permit: to possess or engage in any form of dealing with prohibited matter without a special permit.
