Plumbing Practitioner's Licence - Tasmania

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to carry out plumbing work. Plumbing work includes installing, altering, maintaining or disconnecting a plumbing installation such as refrigeration, sanitary plumbing and drainage, stormwater drainage, water services, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, hydraulic, liquid fuel, medical gas or pneumatic.

If you have overseas qualifications you will need to apply for a provisional licence.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for a practitioner's licence you must:

  • be a fit and proper person
  • have the relevant qualifications, experience and competencies (at least Certificate III in Plumbing, Roof Plumbing or Mechanical Services)
  • have completed the relevant training
  • undertake continuing professional development.

To be eligible for a provisional licence you must:

  • be a fit and proper person
  • fulfil the requirements for mutual recognition of your qualifications, experience and competencies
  • have completed the training needed to satisfy the gap training requirements
  • undertake continuing professional development.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

You will need to maintain your skills through continuing professional development.
