Prospecting Licence - Tasmania

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to prospect on land outside of a declared fossicking area. Permissible fossicking activities include:

 

  • the collection of rock, mineral, water or soil samples by hand
  • mapping of the area of land to which the licence relates
  • the use of hand-held instruments to take geological measurements.

This permit does not allow the use of mechanical machinery, explosives, sluices, trommels and motorised pumps during prospecting activities. Other rules apply, please check with the Agency for further details.
