Chinese Medicine Practitioner Registration - Tasmania

Description

You need to be registered to practise as a Chinese medicine practitioner. Registered Chinese medicine practitioners provide Chinese medicine (such as acupuncture) and, depending on their qualifications and experience, may use the protected titles:

  • Chinese medicine practitioner
  • Chinese herbal dispenser
  • Chinese herbal medicine practitioner
  • oriental medicine practitioner
  • acupuncturist.

Chinese medicine practitioner registration is divided into three divisions:

  • Chinese herbal dispensing
  • Chinese herbal medicine
  • acupuncture.

You must make an additional application and pay additional fees to register for more than one division.

There are four different types of registration offered to practitioners:

  • general
  • limited
  • non-practising
  • student.
