You will require this authorisation if you intend to operate a regular passenger transport service. A regular passenger service is defined as one that:
- carries fare-paying passengers in a large passenger vehicle (vehicle with 10 or more seats)
- operates at regular or substantially regular intervals according to a publicised route and timetable.
Regular passenger transport services do not include passenger services that form the whole or part of a tourist activity.
Core services that are essential for the public's needs will normally be subsidised and operated under contract to the Secretary of the Department of State Growth.
Please consult the Contact Officer for more information.
